Once Upon a Time in Content Land...


Hey there! We're Daniel Kempe and Matthew Spurr, the joy-spreading duo behind BlogJoy.

Chapter 1: Trial and ERROR

Much like most people early on in our content marketing journey we experienced the same pain points of trying to navigate Google’s algo for ranking high with our content.

We tried all sorts, did courses and even used freelancers, but ultimately things were a bit stagnant.

One thing was working for us however, and that was our own SaaS startup product Quuu Promote. This was undoubtedly the key to us driving thousands of backlinks and social signals - it was the starting ingredient for our recipe for content marketing success.


Chapter 2: The Penny Dropped

Having reflected on everything we’d tried in the first couple of years we decided to give one strategy a go for the next 6 months to see if it worked.

OMG, it actually did.

So we said, alright, let’s do this with higher volume.

Even better results.

So we made hay while the sun shone. Hired writers, taught them our secret sauce, set them up with the brief and made sure they did everything by the book, following our rules.

Fast forward to almost 10 years later, and the sun is still shining, we’ve continued to make hay and we’ve even rolled out our strategy for dozens of other clients.


Chapter 3: It’s An All Weather Strategy

By now, this same strategy had not been tweaked once from the initial experiment we tried all those years ago.

We had developed an ‘all-weather’ strategy for success with blogging.

We know that over this same period Google would have changed its infamously elusive and secret algo time and time again, and not once did our strategy falter in its returns over time.

Quarter-on-quarter we’d evaluate the performance and see growth. Scaling backlinks, referring domains, new organic keywords and, of course, traffic.


Chapter 4: We Got Smart

We embarked on a quest to blend the best of our strategy with the undeniable power of AI:

  • The nuanced understanding of human strategists

  • The efficiency, research, consistency, reliability and data-crunching power of AI

Then we tested if it worked.

JOY!

It darn well did work, in fact, it was better.

It’s something we’d had an eye on for a while (using AI), but there were blockers in the past.

After enough persistence, we finally found the perfect harmony for creating content so good that even our staff could not tell which had been produced by AI and which by a human writer.

When paired with our underlying strategy (the secret sauce) we had something that was going to transform access to achieving growth via blogging for any of our clients.

All it requires is consistency and volume, and boom - joy to all blogs!


Chapter 5: BlogJoy Was Born

Something that we used to charge upwards of $750 for per blog post, can now be accessed by companies for as little as $30 per post.

It’s crazy, but the time saving efficiency that we’ve created means we can do this with the same level of love and attention to detail we have always done, but for a fraction of the price and for way more people. The key to this strategy is consistency and decent volume of publishing posts.
